Hi All:

Would like to know if anybody knows of a resource or textbook that I can use for a couple of footings for a carport structure similar to those ones used in gas stations where you have two columns supporting the roof. Wind controls, no seismic. Roof structure is pretty light. I suspect that overturning and sliding are the controlling factors, but would like to do a well rounded check on all items. Thanks in advance, all input and comments very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot msquared48! By the way, found a couple of threads where I learned that a lot of gas stations carports or canopies are built throughout the country without consideration for the most basic wind uplift, unbalanced snow and connection design. They are "sized" by builders.... Scary indeed!
