What really happens to Teflon when irradiated with Gamma radiation? I've read that Teflon get's kinda beat up but I've got an application that's one time use, non critical and the product is exposed to only 25 kGy.

Thanks!

Mike

PTFE is beat up by Gamma rays. I don't know how much it takes, but I do know it can literally shoot holes in it, and in fact is a method used to reduce particle size of the powders.
