I have a fence that has stainless cables and connectors that attach to galvanized fence posts and chain link fabric. Is this a problem? I know you aren't supposed to mix these two, but its just a fence. Thanks.

The mentioned mixture of stainless steel and zinc is notorious to generate anodic corrosion. In the presence of moisture (rain or even the odd dog visit at your fence) it could operate like a galvanic cell, generating pure oxigen and hydrogen. The consequences could be sometimes devastating, the hydrogen is very flamable and the flame is invisible. It could produce horrible injuries to the unaware passer-by. Do you have public liability insurance? Better still, consider some picket pilling fence, is safer, easy to paint with used motor oil.

There won't be any flames. But the galv posts will corrode quickly where they contact the SS. A SS screw into a galv post will work loose from corrosion.
When this is done commercially they use plastic isolators between the two.

I only tried to be a bit funy in the previous reply..
The mass of your stainless steel cabling is insignificant compared with the mass of your galvanised posts. This means that the small area of contact won't generate any significant corrosion problems, as it would with galvanised wiring attached to stainless steel posts. I suggest first to use a decent paint on the posts, on the area of contact and if possible use some isolating plastic to clamp the cabling onto the posts. Also, of possible, try to prevent the contact of the screws/bolts with the SS cabling.
Now, back to the question, do you have a fire extinguisher?
