Hello!

I have a case where a tight contact, to transfer heat, is needed between a part made from low carbon steel (with zinc chromate platting) and a part from aluminum or copper. The part made from steel is of cylindrical shape, 2” dia. The part made from aluminum is a ring fitted over the cylinder. The task is to transfer heat from the cylinder’s body into a surrounding space via aluminum or copper ring (with fins attached to it). Temperature of the cylinder’s surface is 115 deg C. The environment is harsh – sea.

The challenge is to avoid galvanic corrosion. I am looking for a corrosion neutralizing coating on the cylinder or the ring and, at the same time, thermally conductive and hard enough to withstand scratching caused during tight fitting of the ring over the cylinder.

Thank you for suggestions.
