Sheet metal thickness gauge.

Gauge is used a lot in the metal industry as a thickness measurement.

Per ASMe Y14.38 GA can mean...

Gage
Gas Amplification
Glide Angle
Graphic Ammeter
Ground-to-Air

NO can mean Normally Open or number.

Thanks,

the drawing that I am talking about is for machining a body of butterfly valve, where diameter dimensions are following by the note GA. NO.

example (dia. 4.879 / 4.876 GA. NO.)

thanks again.

In your case that would be a gage dimension.
Usually used on a tapered surface, you would have a gage diameter and a gage height.
Measure the diameter at that height and it needs to meet the gage diameter values.
