I am experiencing a problem with my 2001 Pontiac that is pulled along by a 3.4 L engine. I am getting a large quantity of fuel mixing in with my engine oil. The vehicle has been in the garage for two days now and they have checked the obvious like the injectors etc. They have no idea what is going on with this and I have had to leave it for a third day. I noticed about a liter high on the dip stick and took the vehicle in. They dumped the oil and a week later and 250km's I noticed about another half liter. Any ideas please reply to dtberry@sympatico.ca

I am a fluid power technician with limited automotive ability.
Thankyou

An injector sticking open under certain conditions.

If the car is blowing black smoke at certain times, like at start up, that indicates when it is leaking.

It might be leaking down overnight, and all the fuel has run past the rings by morning. It then might not blow black smoke, but still probably would if you left it an hour then restarted.

If you are in the habit of leaving the ignition on (to listen to the radio for instance, the fuel pump might be running, keeping the system pressurised.
