from unv to iges; parameter file

I loaded a relatively big unv file with geometry. I can not do anything with it, because I always get error message (construction fail) (This was in MS8). I tried to write in an iges file. I got abnormally termination. (This was in MS8 and MS9.)
Another problem: I can not change the memory settings. I got an error message something like this: You should change a line in a initial parameter file. Where is this file? What is the extension of it?

Try hidden command /xto co bo bc in prompt window.

This will open a menu. Issue foreign cad->export.
