Only by saving in neutral format such as Parasolid.
You will lose all intelligence and features from the model.
If the original was a sync model I suppose it doesn't matter that much, but it's a pain if the model was traditional type.
None of the 3D cad modellers will save as earlier versions and maintain all the intelligence.
