I'm trying to find a definitive number for the static coefficient of friction for dry steel on dry steel.

My Bosch book says 0.15
My Machinery's book says 0.8
My Gieck book says 0.15-0.30

Which is correct?

I am looking for information related to track-driven vehicles performance. Specifically I need information about metal tracks contacting a metal surface. Anyone know where I could find such info?
