I am trying to design a mixed building system (dual / frames-walls). I have to use the assumption that the yield curvature (?y) is effectivelly independant of strength, and hence the stiffness (EI) is directly proportional to the flexural strength (M).
So i want a relationship for the displacement stiffness and/or strength of the frames.
k : displacement stiffness [ k = Vy / Dy ]
Vy : strength
Dy : yield displacement
lw : wall length
~ : proportional
For example: strength is proportional to the wall length : k ~ lw
and the displacement stiffness (k) is proportional to the square of the length of the wall. Vy ~ ( lw )^2
The above relations are valid for walls. [ Alois Sommer and Hugo Bachmann, "Seismic behaviour of asymmetric RC wall buildings: Principles and new deformation-based design method", Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics 2005, 34:101-124 ]
I am looking for something relevant for the frames!
Thanks in advance.
