In a NX8.5 part attribute for 'Description' I have "1<Q1!2> x 2 x 3 1018 STEEL"
This works well in the parts table (BOM) and shows the fraction as it should.
However, when I make a note in the drawing for the part and link to the description attribute, it literally shows up as "<Q1!>"
Is this a formatting problem?
From what I have read in the forum this should work.

Contact GTAC for this type of issue. If it is really a bug, then they need to know.

I don't think they are font dependent, but are you using the same font in both the BOM and the note?
What happens if you enter the fraction in the note as part of the text itself, not linked to the attribute?
It could be an issue with attribute linking.

Thanks for the help.
The BOM and note are both using Arial Unicode MS font.
If I change the font to NX blockfont it shows up <Q1!8>, slight change.
However, if I just type <Q1!8> in the note, it shows up correctly.
So it looks like it might be a attribute linking problem.
Thanks again, I will contact GTAC.

I guess you could argue that this is a bug, or at least an inconsistency, but it appears that this is just that way it works and has always worked. When creating a Parts List, the software does an actual 'evaluation' of the special characters and codes, but when linked to an Expression or Attribute, it does a simple copy of the text string. Now if you were enter that same text string directly into the text editor it works fine.

I'll be glad to open a PR for you and let you know what I learn. Of course if we both open PR's it might get a bit more attention ;-)

Thanks for the help John.

OK, I've opened a PR. IF and when I learn anything, I'll pass it along. But as I said, if some PR's come in directly from customers, that will help move things along.
