Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help with a digram to make a motor go forward and reverse, ie this will be on a car lift that will run up and then down.

The motor is single phase 3.7Kw 1ph 230V, 50Hz with centrifigal switch.

The block is as attached.

Very much appreciated

Post a photo of the nameplate and one of the terminal box. An overall shot of the motor wouldn't go amiss either unless you can tell us what type it is (cap start, PSC, split phase...)

If we learn from our mistakes I'm getting a great education!

Find the start capacitor. One side will connect to the line. The other side will connect to the start winding.
CAREFULLY record the winding connections. If the leads are not labeled, label them yourself.
Disconnect the leads. Use a suitable continuity meter to find the other end of the start winding.
Reverse the leads for the start winding.
