I purchased Foundation Analysis and Design 5thed by Joseph E. Bowles. I also got the 1.44 diskette that comes with it. I want to try it out, but my computer doesn't have a floppy drive. Does anyone know where there's a downloadable version on the net? Or, does Bowles have an email address where I can contact him for a soft copy?

Those little programs are a pain in the head and are DOS based. You rather look for additional sources.

Joseph Bowles died about 2 years ago, on July 13th. He's not returning calls or e-mails.

Really 2 years ago? Is he still dead?

Gimbli, believe it or not, I have been forced to learn some of these DOS programs because my school is too cheap to acquire licenses for Windows based programs. I know ShakePRO is out there, but nobody's really big into geotechnical earthquake engineering at NJIT.

I was not a good computer programmer but I was able to learn a little Fortran Finite Element Analysis along with STAAD Pro. It's all good.

HSNIC,

I think I have that book(and disk) I will check tonight.

Thanks, but I got it now...
