I am looking to calculate the Thermal Contact Conductance (TCC) between two carbon steel plates. I know the surface roughness, contact pressure, etc. Just looking for the equation, or any experimental data from which I can determine a value.

Surface roughness ~1000 micro inches
Contact pressure ~85 psi
Temperature range 100-300 *F

Also, if there is any information on the effect of painted surfaces on TCC that would be useful information.

Thanks!

In the contact zone, provided it is clean and smooth, I don't beleive that there would be a significant temperature change, so I would treat the two plates as one.
