Hi All,

I want to update and want to get ideas diffrent ways to fill the Tie Holes in Water Tank Walls.

We used foam rods and non shrink grout for wall up to 300mm thick wall.

Please share if any other time tested method are existed. It is one of last think but most important in WT.

Thanks for your time.

Rakesh

First of all of our ties have some kind of rubber plug or washer. Then, we just use epoxy bonding agent and dry pack mortar. I suspect that using anything fancier would be counter productive, since they always have unskilled labor filling the holes. I'm not a fan of non shrink grout in unconfined areas. It swells slightly and might tend to loosen or pop out.
For tie holes under the proposed water surface, we coat the vicinity of wet side with epoxy gel after patching for a belt and suspenders approach.

Hi Jed,

Thanks for your reply. DO you have product info for Rubber plug/washer and epoxy meterial?

Thanks again,

Agree with JedClampett. A sand filled epoxy grout works fine. There are many available epoxy grouts from Sika, Lambert, or others.

JC...exactly my epoxy choice as well (Sikadur). Have had excellent results with it for many years.
