Has anyone used FTAO on garage portals? I saw the case study released by the APA for the Santa Barbara Apartments but am looking for something more of a design example.
Any advice? Pitfalls? Not sure what I'm asking for. Just curious at this point.

One thing that may or may not be tripping you up in your quest is the FTAO terminology. That's typically the domain of walls with windows and chunks of wall below the windows. So not garage openings. The portal frame methods absolutely are examples of force transfer around openings in the fundamental sense but, for whatever reason, we don't call it that.
