Hi,

I am learning how to use ETABS to help me in designing footings. More specifically, I will be using the said software to identify the forces and moments needed to design a structure's footing. Is it correct that I have to invert the direction of the support reaction forces/moments from ETABS before applying it to the footing (see image below)?

Can you design it by hand before using etabs?

I don’t know Etas, but if you have clockwise moment from the column then that is what you apply to then footing. Not an anti clockwise moment

I get that if foundation’s in equilibrium then rah force a counteracted but indoor think you apply opposite forces .....
