Hi,
I want to model a container poured with water and I want to exert an earthquake record to the container and find the fluid behavior. My problem is I do not know why fluid and container does not have any interaction while I use Abaqus explicit Default contact. It means that water will exit from the bottom of the container.
Your kind assistance are appreciated in advance!

Are you using abaqus/Explcit to build your container and and Abaqus CFD for your fluid? Have you created a co-simulation step for the fluid to interact with the structure? So this example from SIMULIA,

its the 3/10 Abaqus 6.10 for Unified FEA, that may help. The also have a FSI-Explicit exmaple there too.

Hope that help you

If you model the water already in the container, and apply the earthquake load, then you're looking at a fairly standard (but still complex) sloshing fluid-structure interaction type problem that Abaqus can solve, and the documentation probably has a related example. If you want to model the "pouring" of the water into the container as well, that's different.
