I would recommend 'Introduction to Fluid Mechanics' by Fox/McDonald/Pritchard. I used it in the past and I thought it was quite good. I also used 'Intro to Fluids Mechanics' by smits. While some of it was good, i found the Fox/McDonald to be much better.

good luck

It is not just a young engineer thing. My son in law is a civil engineer, and when he was courting my daughter, the rule was that he had to bring his fluids text book with him when he came a'courting, so I could read it (while they went out.)

It was much more up to date, and with better pictures and illustrations than my older college version had. I loved reading it.

I got Massey's book when I was a pipeliner and thought it was pretty good- I'm sure it's still in print and a good bookshop or Amazon could get it!

Introduction to Fluid Mechanics, Fred White. This is a classical textbook found in most university campus book stores, engineering section, fluid mechanics.

"Introduction to Fluid Mechanics by Fox and McDonald is the best I've seen. People where I work have edditions that they used in school 20 years ago

rmw, were ya readin that fluids book whilst sitting on the front porch between pushing rounds into the magazine of your 12-gauge? ;-) ;-) I keep wondering what I'm going to do when my daughter goes out on dates... reading a fluids book is not near the top of the list... reloading 12-ga rounds is though! ;-) ;-)

Thanks!
Pete
