Flow through stationary circular pipe

I am studying flow through stationary circular(round) pipe.The fluid enters the pipe with a constant velocity. the two surfaces of the pipe experience a pressure difference, the inner surfsce that of p and the outer surface P+dp. Due to this pressure gradient and the tendency of the liquid to flow from a region of high pressure to low pressure, the fluid flows from the outer rim to the inner rim. At steay state one can observe that closer to the inner rim we have liquid of high velocity and at the outer rim low velocity. How is this kind of flow suatained throughout the pipe. a velocity contour plot does not show any back mixing or secondary flows anywhere. can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Are you speaking about annular flow? The question is not clearly stated.

 
No this is not annular flow. It is flow through a pipe which is bent in a circular fashion
 
The secondary flow perpendicular to the main flow in curved pipes or coils is called Dean Effect. You can further read about it in Perry's in Fluid and Particle Dynamics chapter(6-18). This effect favors laminar flow and if your initial velocities are low, chances are that you may not be able to find the secondary flow.

It will be a phenomenon if anyone can understand this query and be able to explain it to others. I'm on my second aspirin and still trying.
