I need to install a flow switch to detect Seal Water to interlock the starting of a 2300v motor. Does anyone know of a product that they may have used in a simliar application?
If you are going to use a switch and some form of water shut off valve e.g solenoid, make sure you check the switch for operation when the water is off. Paddle flow switches are unreliable at best.

We had very bed experiance with Paddle flow switch and stop using them after almost all of them failed. After checking few types, the only one I recommand on is the thermal dispersion type which never failed on us. We are using them in Cooling water, Brine (underground "Dirty" water), Thermal oil and similar application. Prices are much higher then the peddles, but my moto - if it not important - eliminate the instrument. If it is important pay for a good instrument.
Suppliers are K-Tek (
ilan7, I will second that, in my experience less than 50% of mechanical switches will work when required.
I tried all types of lube oil switches before settling on integral orifice flow transmitter.
