I am involved in a project renovating the mechanical system on an old building [early to mid 1900's].
The second floor is steel joists and concrete. There is a material in place that I assume was used to form the concrete floor. It is not corrugated metal deck, centering deck, etc. that you might see. It is more of a "cardboard" type of material. there is nothing indicating what it is on the drawings. I have run across this before but do not know what it is called. I need to know for this project? I also need to know whatever I can find out about this material.

If it was an older building there was a reinforced paper form that was draped between closely spaced joists. I do not recall the name of that product.

jike - yes that is what I am looking at
msquared48 it is not void form

That product is not manufactured anymore. If you are remodeling (new openings, closing up others, etc), I would just use metal form deck and auxiliary framing as necessary.

Jike
that was the plan
I have a very "inquisitive" owner so I wanted to make sure I have my bases covered to be able to answer any questions
