Try this: Edit > Fill
The Fill tool allows users to quickly create a flat surface after selecting a closed section.

I ran across this Edit>Fillfeature and I'mcurious to know what it's used for- Inever use surfaces in my day to day work. Is it beneficial when using solids, perhaps as a reference surface? Does it show up in a drawing? Any commentswould be appreciated. TIA.
