Hi every specialist;

I'm doing design of wellhead piping system on desert (Sahara). I'm planning to not provide supports for flare line part outside the fence, just let the pipe laid down above ground on the sand.
Do you think that Client will have any reason to reject this design?

Thanks

If his blood is still warm, I would think he's going to object.

Believe it or not, it rains in the desert, just not much. For the few plants and animals that live out there, condensation is their primary source of water. Humidity at night condenses on steel pipe. Drops run down outside to bottom of pipe where wind blown sand has already worn down the coating. Desert soils are often highly corrosive. Hello corrosion. Goodby job.

Thank you big
Even if we provide support, with time going, these support and pipe will be buried due to sand movement (wind effect)
Do you think that the use coated pipe will be a solution?

The coating will be blown off. Just a matter of time.

In Saudi Arabia no exposed horizontal piping below 0.2 m AGL is allowed in sand affected areas. Telephone poles are shielded with metal sheeting to 0.15 meters AGL. Every so often you have to haul away the acculumated sand, or just try to keep the pipes coated until they're completely buried might be one alternative... maybe.

One really good sand storm can leave your car well pitted. You definitely don't want to drive in one unless you like the look of cleanly sand blasted metal. A few hours of 100 kph and you might as well turn off the highway at the paint shop exit and get a taxi the rest of the way.
