Flame Arrestor Tetsing Frequency (API RP12N)

Does anyone know the recommended testing frequency for flame arrestors??

I am familiar with API RP12N which is for Firebox Flame Arrestors. In the Testing section (section 6) no mention is given of the frequency other than it should be "determined by the user".

What is a typical frequency for testing these flame arrestors??

Does the frequency change for line arrestors, spark, stack or tank arrestors vs the gas fired type referred to in RP12N??

I apply the same testing criteria as for other relief devices. I base period on service history and inspections - if unknown I use 12 months minimum/ 5 years maximum.
