Flag inputs and soft I/Os

Dear All,
I have worked on s-7 400. I have worked on Maintenance of PLC in our winder machine used to wind the reels of paper machine.The problem is that I locate the fault without PG from the Hard copies of the logic but I cannot locate the flag inputs or the soft I/Os generated by Software.Kindly help me to troubleshoot soft I/Os.

You should be able to use the cross referencing facilities to trace all IO and 'flags'
