When using the fixed fastener formula you divide the difference between the MMC of the clearance hole by the MMC of the fastener by two. If another component is introduced into the assembly is it necessary to divide the difference by 3?

obie18,

The assumption behind the fixed fastener formula is that the clamped parts are located by something other than the fastener. This is true for each and every fastener in your assembly.

Sit down and do the geometry. It all makes sense.
