Hi all, I asked a similar question in the past, but running into this again. I was told SW2007 SP3.0 will mostly take care of the issue, but not in this case. I imported a large model using a step file format. I deleted some of the parts and sub- assemblies and ended up with a part and a sub-assembly in the main assembly. Now, when I want to move any of the part in the sub-assembly, the whole subassembly moves. If I open the subassembly and move individual parts, I can do it. I don't see any mates in my main assembly or sub-assembly. I can move the part alone in the main assembly, but not any of the parts of the subassy. I am not seeing Fix/Float Icon for any of the parts in the sub-assy. But, I see it for the part in the main assy. How do I solve this problem ? Thanks.

The first part you drop into an assembly shall be inserted at the origin. This will fix the assembly in space.

You need to be in Edit Sub-assembly mode when you try to move a part within a sub-assy.

... or have the sub-assy set to Flexible.
