I'm trying to find info on types of fitting threads and what they all mean. NPT, NPST, M, ISO, JIS, SAE "G" = BSPP or BSP?, "R"?...AAAAAAGH. I'd love a good reference of what all the types are and what types will fit together. Anyone know of such a thing?

In addition to this, I think some 1/2"-2" sizes of different threading (both "AWWA Standard" and "NPT") sometimes used in small diameter pressurized service connections to larger water mains etc. are discussed in AWWA C800, Underground Service Line Valves and Fittings.
