Hello All,
I am currently studying all possible solutions to stop the leak in the firefighting system network for a large facility where 6 diesel operated pumps (10.2Bar@568m3/hr)ea. and supplying diffrent areas through RTR pipes ( size varies from 36" to 10"). According to our supplier and initial filed investigation the PIV valves were installed wrongly just resting in a horizontal position which are causing some excessive loads during manual opening and closing. We have re-designed the supports and restrained those valve firmly using flanged brackets embedded into the concrete. After few tests leaks still occuring. some were advising to install air vents or relief valves at some high points, however I am not sure if that will solve teh problem. any suggestion?
Thanks
Marc
