Hi All

Could you please advise on a good free firewall program from a web site.

Yup. ZoneAlarm is the industry standard - and the free version works great.

Please see FAQ731-376 for great suggestions on how to make the best use of Eng-Tips Fora.

I've used Agnitum Outpost for about a year and am a 100% satisfied customer - not bad for a free program!

I don't know how it compares with ZoneAlarm - but it did score higher in a comparative review, so that's why I used it, and have found no reason to change.

Sygate is also good and there is a free version. However, my vote is also for Zone Alarm.

Hi

Installed Zone Pro 4.5 and its good. Thanks all.

You could get a very inexpensive wired broadband router to actually have a more "physical" device protecting you from the internet!

I got one for $1 (after rebates, etc) at the FutureShop (Best Buy) website, although I'm not sure you can still get them.
