Good morning
We have a potential fire water pump project coming up. After speaking with others there are a few points that should be satisfied:

Power supply to the pump should be from a secure supply.

No winding protection for the pump motor as the pump should run to destruction.

There have had differing opinions on whether an emergency stop should be fitted to the pump.

Are there other conditions/standards that should be satisfied for this application ?

Thanks

This is all a matter of codes and regulations.
As well as National and State or Provincial Codes, some cities have local codes. Check with your local Fire Marshall.

Thanks,
This work will be carried out in the uk.

For reference,

NFPA #20 is what we use for Fire Pumps.
There is an entire chapter for the Electric Driver.
There are several other factors listed therein.
Each depending on your situation.
