Hi
Has someone used this product? Is it recommended for cables located in areas where there is fire hazard e.g coal/bagasse boiler?
Has someone encountered a fire where the coating has helped to retard the fire propagation?
Plz see attached a datasheet of the coating. Thks

Can't speak to this particular product but fire-proofing of cables, especially in vaults and trays has been used for a long time. We did it in coal-fired power plants many years ago. It's a PITA when modifications are required after it's applied. But in concept at least, it works.

In my opinion, if the cable has passed the IEC 331 Standard test for fire retardant –or fire resistant- what do you need it is only fire stops [ or breaks]-even in cable tray.

Hi Randhir120173
Here in South Africa we used to use the Fire Break paint ( one metre length ) at approx every 10 metres
However, since our Kinross fire underground disaster many years ago we switched to fire retardent red stripe
cables. And blue stripe low Halogen cables for underground mining. Manufactured to SANS 1507.
