Fire pump question- uk

Good morning,
I have asked a previous question on fire pump standards in the uk. Does the controller for a fire pump come with manual mode and an emergency stop button? From what I have read you want the pump to start as soon as possbie and then run continuously until it is manually switched off, however from back ground reading I have seen controllers with em stops and the ability to select manual mode. Is this normal for the uk?
