Does anyone out there know if Auto FEA exists by JH Analyzer?

They do allow you to download a trial version but they do not respond to email or calls?

Let me know.

PS- I guess there based out in California allegedly.

I found Auto FEA by JL Analyzer on the internet, but I have never used the software, nor have I seen it used. No response emails or phone calls? I don't know if I'd want to deal with that company.

I remember several years ago looking at what they had. It was fairly intriguing at the time, but I don't know if they have kept pace with others. I don't hear the name anymore.

A few other things to consider. They website has copyright to 2008, an indication that it may not be well maintained. The other thing to be consider is:

Their minimum requirements are a Pentinum 133Mhz, which came out over 10 years ago. Strange that something like that would even be listed. Again an indication that is it is not being maintained.

Regarding AutoFEA by JL Analyzer.

I can confirm, that they were/are based in California, and that their communications are appalling. When I purchased the orginal programme (mid 90s) - it was what I could afford.

I use Autofea 9, running on both Win98 (SE) and XP - for checks on hand (and MathCAD) calculations for shells, plates etc. and, for various 'what if' scenarios.

Initially I found it very difficult; but with practice, it is very good for the task I want it to do. History has shown that it is accurate. The more I used it, the more features I found.

Some years ago I purchased an updated version - which used mN and mPa for force and pressure/stress, and yes I had some heart stopping moments! This was abandoned, when I found that version 9 would run on XP. Version 9 in SI uses N and MPa.

I am sure, it is not the best FEA on the market; but for me it works well. Without it life would be difficult.

I've played with it's 5000 node demo and found it to be pretty good, and I know that the author is still around (he occasionally posts on these message boards) and in the past has been very responsive to questions. I don't think it will do non-linear analyses though.

The full version is $395 without support so the price is comparable to the Lite version of JLAnalyzer.
