Fine Aggregate Gradation

Was wondering if anyone had run across a fine aggregate specification such as:

0 to 5% retained on 4.75 mm sieve
5 to 15% retained on 2.36 mm sieve
10 to 25% retained on 1.18 mm sieve
10 to 30% retained on 0.600 mm sieve
15 to 45% retained on 0.300 mm sieve
12 to 20% retained on 0.150 mm sieve
2 to 8% retained in pan

I have found it "difficult" to get a normal looking gradation curve out of this. Any help would be fantastic!

I ran into this before somewhere, but can't recall where. It's a bit awkward to draw the conventional way (as percent passing each sieve), and after doing it wrong a couple times, I'm not sure you can even draw boundaries on the usual plot based on that style of spec. At each sieve, you know the vertical height of the band, but not the vertical location of the band (except at the #4 and the pan).

For some uses, this style of spec might actually make sense. In theory anyway (not necessarily with real sand), C33 could allow everything that passes the #16 to also pass the #30. I claim no expertise in concrete aggregate, but it seems to me a gap between 1.18 mm and 0.3 mm would be less than optimal. Real sand probably wouldn't give you a gap like that, however, so this might not ever happen.

What's interesting is if you use average values for each size, you get (about) 100 percent, so you could make a single-line curve. Otherwise, I must say, I've never seen this sort of spec.
