Is there a way to find the points on a 3d curve in Solidworks? I need to find the points of intersection of two pipes perpendicular to one another in order to seem weld with a welding robot. I'm sure this could be done with some good ol calculus but this will be a problem I see regularly with more complex geometry and would like to give it to the comp instead.

Most of what I have seen for doing this involves using a Macro: This one from SW help forums will pull the xyz coordinates of any Reference points into a new excel file. Solidworks Forum #86372
If you create a 3Dsketch / Intersection curve of the junction of your two pipes you can then add Reference Geometry > Point > Evenly Distributed

A downfall to this method is that it will limit you to 100 pts/curve, so you may have to split your spline into multiple sections if that is not enough.
