Hi! I'm an architect working on a natural ventilation building. We are proposing aluminum metal panel filters (Airguard), to block some dust and sand.

I would like to know if someone can help me to calculate the porosity of the filter wich id formed of pleated and flat screens . The only thing I have from the specification data is the pressure drop.

What I need to know is the % of ventilation that I will miss due to the filters.

Thank you very much ,

Beatriz

It is not clear why you would ask an HVAC (the "V" in HVAC is for Ventilation") question in a metallurgy forum.

If you were to ask this same question in an HVAC fourm you would be told:

That with only the information you have provided it would be impossible for anyone to give you a useful reply.

That pressure drop is a function of flow.

That "% of ventilation" has no inherent meaning.

That "porosity" is not typically a term used when discussing ventilation filter performance.

That the filter manufacturer datasheet will have information of need.
