Hi,

I work for an abrasive company manufacturing Scotchbrite type products that we supply to the aerospace industry for deburring, edge radiussing and finishing various components.

Recently we have been asked, by a Dutch company who want to supply KLM, for an FIE approval number which KLM require before buying our products.

Could someone please let me know what the FIE number is and how I can get a list of products approved?

This is a new one on me as companies like Rolls Royce, GE, Boeing etc have never asked for this before, relying on internal approval methods.

Thanks for any help :)

Forgot to mention; have tried googling but that only brings up things on Fencing and Chinese legal things...

eggbert...

Try asking your 'Dutch company' POCs the dumb question: "What does FIE approval number mean... and what are the governing rules or regulations???"

Regards, Wil Taylor

This is now resolved.
Apparently abrasive products don't need any official governing body approval as the companies themselves do their own approvals of consumables.
