Has anybody come across durability problems with Fibre Reinforced Cement pipes (otherwise known as 'fibre cement') installed for up to 30 years? The fibres were originally asbestos, now cellulose.

I am beginning to investigate some failures of these pipes when installed 'architecturally' as a cantilever and suspect they can deteriorate from rainwater (soft water attack perhaps?).

underground - ACP is well known for it's brittle failures. Not a type of pipe that I would use for a cantilever
