A question for any FEMAP users. My FEM will require a material card for a film adhesive. The properties that I have for the film adhesive are shear modulus, strain at failure and maximum shear stress. What would be the best material card to use for this material?
I would call TECs but it has expired and I'm too cheap to renew.
v/r,

ISO, set E to 1 or 10 (small, not zero)
or 2D ORTHO

both allow you to divorce normal modulus (E) from shear modulus (G).

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Thank you rb.
what about Poisson's - something very small and non-zero - or other?
v/r,

it probably doesn't matter ... it'll complain about inconsistent material properties ... but you already know that.

Are you using a shell or solid element for the adhesive?

Actually it’s likely you are using solid elements.
Use E=1 psi, nu=0
So the real questions are - why are you modelling adhesive and what do you expect to get from the FEM?
