I am trying to model a frame that is supported by an air ride suspension.

I tried using only the spring rate ~800. But, the model moves all the stresses through the front mount and bushing (20,000 spring rate). In reality the air spring takes 80% of the weight in the model it is taking >10%.

Then I tried modeling the spring top plate and applying the estimated pressure. This just added more stress to the model rather than just accepting stress.

Anyone have any ideas how to get a more accurate model?

Hi engjeff,

could you send some pictures in a doc format in order to have a better idea of your model?

Thanks.
