Good Evening,

I'm relatively new to FEA Lusas, and I'm trying analyse something relatively simple.

I am essentially modelling a steel beam as a surface, and then assigning a thin shell element to the surfaces and also a geometric surface thickness.

I initially analyse for Eigenvalues (to establish elastic buckling moment) and deformed shape.

I then using the eigenvalue deformed deformed mesh as the model mesh, apply plastic characteristics: yield stress, strain-hardening etc.

Something, whatever it may be is not quite right and not giving expected output.

This has been plaguing me since Monday and could really do with someone who might be able to point me in the right direction...?

Any help is much appreciated, my initial model should you wish to have a look.

Cheers,

Joe.
