FEA in Inventor Pro? 2

Has anyone used the FEA module available with Inventor Pro? Any comments? I'll be looking over a demo in a few days, but would appreciate a heads-up from current users.

I use it on a limited basis. It is very simple, and relatively quick. Only works on single parts, or derived parts (but the derived part will behave like a dumb solid).

R11 has some more features, but I'm neck deep in a project and the last thing I need is migration issues.

Depending on the type of work you do, you may find the force, and constraint tools too limited.

If you have experience with other FEA tools, you may be dissapointed.

Very basic FEA tool.

You can get a nice "equivalent stress" plot at the surface of your element, and deflections as well.

If you need anything else, such as:

Principal stress,
Stress under the surface,
X-direction (e.g.) stress,
Forces at nodes for connection design,

then go with a real, separate FEA package.

Thanks both. Sounds like a slight improvement over the Solidworks/CosmosExpress bundle, but just barely.
