Hi all,

I am looking for a good example about the in section 5 of DNV-OS-C203 described simplified fatigue analysis. Or does anybody have a good ideas in how to assess the fatigue endurance of an fpso module. Currently i determined the stress range for some details including SCF's. The main issue I am looking at is how to determine the fatigue environment for 40 years in service, as i currenty only have the maximum 1 in 5 year and 1 in 200 year design event accelerations. thank you in advance.

This should be done by a naval architect with experience. What do you mean 1 in 5 and 1 in 200 year design accelerations?

This is a monumental task by hand and there are naval architecture FEM analysis programs to do this.

Beyond this you will at least need to know the characteristics of wave action on the particular FPSO geometry based on Class and local conditions. This probably gives you a little bit of an answer.

Wind, vibrations and variable buoyancy should also be considered.
