Fanuc 16i - Error code 445

Hi, we just purchased a 4 axis lathe equiped with a Fanuc 16i. I've been getting a 445 alarm message (soft disconnect for the Z axis). I have already tried about everything: removed the scale and checked it, checked cables, checked servo and encoder parameters on control and cheched for loose connections. Everything seems to be in place but still I am getting this error after 15-20 minutes of work.

I would appreciate your input on this.

Hello, You didn't mention the name of the machine. 4 axis. Its not a Miyano is it? I just had this one thought about your soft z axis alarm. The machines of which I'm thinking have a break away / torque coupling between the servo and the ballscrew. Hardinge do a similar thing. The position of the coupling is senced with a proximitty switch. Some times they play around.
