Does anyone know of a fan/blower certification test/agency? I have some fans that need formal testing to see if they actually meet the vendor-published performance curves.
TIA!

MintJulep-
Thanks for the link. I took five minutes to browse/search their website but could find nothing on static pressure (performance) curve determination.

I'm wondering if there isn't an ASTM or SAE test for this kind of thing.

I stumbled onto the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) at BTW, how do you insert a link into a thread reply?

Tuna,

Sorry, sent you the wrong division. Try the

site. The relavant standard is ASHRAE Standard 51. For some reason it is listed under acoustical testing, but it's there.

To insert a link just type something that looks like a URL, or copy and paste one in. Eng-Tps recognizes it and linkafies it when you submit your post.

Thanks MintJulep! Looks like a fine testing service! I have saved them in my Favorites and have given you a star.

Now since I don't have ASHRAE 51, can you tell me if it is a test with or without a load on the device? That is, does the test determine the fan's static pressure curve (static pressure vs. flow rate) or does it simply measure the unrestricted flow rate?

Tuna,

Sorry, I don't have ready access to a copy. To the best of my recollection ASHRAE 51 can be used to generate a pressure vs. flow curve.
