Hello All,
I have a component (a Compact fan) which consists of approx 20 varients of a basic fan type.
I am trying to create an assembly with this component that has various parts added to it , all controlled by a Family Table.
I have no problem adding the parts and controlling their presence via the Family Table, but I can't seem to change the type of fan used via the Assembly family table. I've looked through the Help on Pro/E and have found nothing useful.
Any help or ideas would be great as I am rapidly losing it !!!
Thanks in advance

I am not sure of your question. I assume you want to replace the fan with one of its instancesd for different assembly instances. Right?

IUf so, then just make sure to add the fan component in the family table, and manulayy enter the correct instance name n place of the Generic or "*". Or use the toolbar, and select "Tols", "Replace Using > Family Table".

Thanks for your help Steve,
It's so obvious when you do it , I just wonder why the Pro/E help files don't cover these sort of things.
Perhaps they wouldn't sell so many training courses if they did ;-)

Thanks again

Peter
