I have one, FAG claims they never made one, and I need to
know what the "x" means to aid in finding a replacement.

Thanks for any help.
Ed

"Engineering states that FAG does not make this bearing nor do we have a substitute."
"We have no record of ever producing or selling
this bearing."

The X may notmean anything for your application. I would assume it is a double row ball bearing, 25 mm x 62 mm x 25.4mm wide. Please give full descriptin & application information

You have the dimensions right Russell. It's a slot filled, double row angular contact. It fits a 2 speed gearbox driving the spindle on a Schaublin milling machine.
The shaft is supported on the other end by a 6307. There
is a gear on the shaft with a pulley at the outboard end of the 6307.

You should be safe with any major bearing manufacturers standard double row bearing, of course slot filled for maximum capacity. The X may have indicated a noise test or internal manufacturing code, that is not significant to the part number. MRC 5306M is one suggestion
