Factor A and B shell thickness 1

lingeshgdvg, I refer you to ASME Sec II, Part D, Mandatory Appendix 3 for a full discussion, but paraphrasing from the same, briefly, and imprecisely :

Factor A is a geometry based factor, relations between thickness, diameter and length as applicable. It is independent of material.

Factor B is a material based factor and represents stress-stain data. This dependent on Factor A (geometry) and temperature. Factor B is used in calculation of the allowable external pressure.
